BSP’s Corvera and Villa lauds AMAPS website launch

LAS PIÑAS, Philippines — Two top officials of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines congratulated the Amateur Media Association of Philippine Scouts after launching their website on November 15, 2021.

BSP National President Dale B. Corvera and BSP Secretary General Rogelio S. Villa Jr. sent their congratulatory message to the Scout media group through an official letter. Both of them were amazed as the group achieved another milestone despite challenges.

It is no secret that the group has had no funding since it started, yet, they were able to launch their own website. According to its President, Win Sharm Cinco, the designers and the developers of the website are all from the inside. It is one of the proudest moments in their existence.

In a Facebook post, Cinco said that she can’t be any prouder of the team behind the milestone. She also thanked her team who rendered their service despite busy schedules.

Cinco received the letters from the BSP on two different occasions. She received SG Villa’s letter on November 17, while NP Corvera’s on December 9.

“I felicitate the men and women behind AMAPS as you mark another milestone in your existence despite the challenges we are facing today,” Villa said in his letter.

He also praised AMAPS that while other social media groups are downgrading, the association is upgrading. The Secretary General described this as proof that their team works to lift their movement to greater heights.

The National President also admired the teamwork of its members despite the long-distance arrangements.

“The Boy Scouts of the Philippines must be proud for your continuing efforts to provide relevant information to your fellow Scouts around the country,” Corvera wrote.

Both of them said that the launching of www.scoutmediaph.org shows Scouts’ resiliency and perseverance to make things happen. They also said that in the middle of social media toxicity, the Scouting movement needs a platform like their website.

Additionally, Villa and Corvera reaffirmed their support for the Scouting and journalism movement of AMAPS.

The Amateur Media Association of Philippine Scouts celebrated its first anniversary on October 1, 2021.
