Pinoy ScouTV bids goodbye to AMAPS

PAMPANGA—The entertainment arm of the Amateur Media Association of the Philippine Scouts, Pinoy ScouTV (PSTV) bids farewell on April 3, 2022.

The separation of PSTV and AMAPS comes after four months of continuous talks with a third-party entity. AMAPS did not disclose the identity of the third party involved.

AMAPS Vice President for Entertainment Feil Immanuel Aquino however clarified that this is not bad news for both organizations as this is part of an expansion plan they’ve been planning since the new executive committee took over.

“There are people who are interested in funding Pinoy ScouTV, however, set in their conditions that productions of PSTV must be in coordination with them. To maintain AMAPS’ status of independence from outside influence, we decided to separate the operations of the two,” Aquino said.

He also emphasized that the current shows will still continue to be broadcasted and AMAPS will still produce vodcasts and other vlogs under AMAPS Entertainment. AMAPS will focus on producing Scouting content while PSTV will be producing content beyond Scouting.

“AMAPS Entertainment, the former PSTV will stay as it is except for the name. You will still see your beloved shows like Scout Heritage, ‘Nak ng Talk-wa, and Facts You. We will also be introducing new shows in the upcoming weeks,” he added.

Aquino mentioned that they will be reviving other shows like Scouts 4 Sustainability, Hindi Ka Babae Lang, and Paaralang Baden-Powell as part of their advocacies for Sustainable Development Goals and promoting Scouting ideals.

When asked what to expect from the new Pinoy ScouTV, he said that the people must stay tuned as they are about to announce exciting news this week. He also called for the Scouts to continue supporting both ventures.

Pinoy ScouTV is the original name of the Amateur Media Association of Philippine Scouts and is responsible for producing Kwentong Makiling and Scout’s Honor: Roberto Corpus Castor.
