BSP Tagum City Council (BSP-TCC) conducted their first face-to-face Basic Training Course (BTC) more than a year after the pandemic disrupted not only the economy but also the way Scouting activities are conducted. The recently concluded BTC was for future Outfit Advisors.
Tagum City Council Scout Executive, ES John Medellin, CML disclosed that this face-to-face course aims to develop more competent Scout Leaders (formerly called Scouters). The objective also includes keeping the Scouting spirit alive in the whole Tagum City and inspiring more Scouts around the country.
Aside from the said event, BSP-TCC will conduct more Basic Training Courses for Langkay Leaders, Kawan Leaders, Troop Leaders, and Circle Managers in the upcoming months.
The pandemic didn’t stop them from becoming better Scout Leaders. Safety protocols were implemented along the way limiting the number of participants to a maximum of 32 and conducting the activity in an open-space venue for the activity.
Medellin also said that a Safety Protocol Officer was put in charge to ensure compliance in the prevailing Inter-Agency Task Force for Emerging and Infectious Disease (IATF-EID) guidelines.
